A Cuban official accused of shoving a U.S. diplomat during a shouting match between Mike Waltz and Cuba's foreign minister is being expelled from the United States, the U.S. ambassador confirmed, according to the New York Post.
He's gone.
U.S. ambassador, per the New York Post
The confrontation unfolded on the floor of the United Nations, where Waltz and Cuba's foreign minister traded a heated exchange, the Post reported. A U.S. diplomat who was recording the dispute was allegedly shoved by the Cuban official, who "tried to assault" him, the ambassador said, per the newspaper.
Open question: whether Havana answers with its own expulsion of a U.S. diplomat, and whether the episode affects other U.S.-Cuba contacts at the UN.
